About the Role
As a Special Education Teacher at our Montessori school, you will work with students who have diverse learning needs and help create an individualized and supportive learning environment. You will collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and parents to design and implement effective, personalized educational plans, ensuring all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
Collaborate with Montessori classroom teachers to integrate IEP goals into the Montessori curriculum.
Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in a variety of subjects and learning environments.
Use Montessori materials and methods to create an accessible learning environment.
Assess and monitor student progress regularly, making adjustments to IEPs as needed to ensure students’ success.
Work closely with parents, caregivers, and other educational professionals to ensure a team-based approach to student support.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, progress, and IEP updates.
Participate in professional development and training specific to both Montessori and special education best practices.
Foster an inclusive, respectful, and positive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Valid state teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
Montessori certification or willingness to pursue Montessori training is preferred.
Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities (learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, etc.).
Concrete understanding of the IEP process and compliance requirements.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
A passion for personalized, student-centered learning in an inclusive environment.
Strong organizational skills and ability to build and maintain systems that enhance organizational efficiency.
Adaptability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment and the ability to learn the skills needed to meet the organization's needs.
Strong attention to detail, great organizational skills, and a self-starter with an ability to predict and think ahead.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Problem-solving mindset and willingness to find the right answers.
This position may require up to 15% of travel.

Compensation
Invictus Nashville offers full-time employees competitive salaries and benefits options. As indicated below individuals hired in this role will start at the listed base salary: $55,000 - $70,000
